This shrub is part of the myrsinaceae family, is native to Asia, is found from northern India to Japan.
This plant is a small adult size meter (two in its natural environment).
Creamy ardisia has an evergreen foliage.
The leaves are thick, dark green and bright (the variegata species has variegated foliage with white), its edges are notched.
After flowering, ardisia produces berries in clusters.
These berries are first green and then turn bright red for the holiday season (some varieties have white berries). If the temperatures are not too high, they will persist until the next flowering.
Anglophones call it Ardisia coral (ardisia coral) or ‘Christmas berry’, so it is often offered during holiday periods.
